These are handwritten notes taken during The Brighton Dyke Collective manifesto writing workshop, ran by the research group Exploding Appendix, in March 2024. In this workshop Dykes were encouraged to ask what they wanted from their manifesto, what they wanted to say and achieve in their work, and how best to mobilise dykes in their city. These notes explore the role of thinking about utopia, rage, community, queerness and other topics when it comes to creating their manifesto.

Saturday 21st June - Brighton dykes congregate in joy and power post-march in the sun. A selection of hand made protest signs are held in pride and solidarity with trans friends and Palestine.

A manifesto for the Dyke Collective Brighton created by the community though a series of workshops and then written and edited by Sabana, Jet and Skye. It was created to formalise, describe and give purpose to this grassroots community dyke group . An important piece of collective work that encapsulates the love and rage that drives us.

On the 20th March 2026 The Dyke Collective Brighton organised an event to celebrate the Spring Equinox. The event took place in Preston Park and the turn out was massive! As the evening went on the fire blazed, marshmallows were roasted, tarots were read and new friends were made. There was a beautiful energy and sense of community.
