Revealing St James Street
12:00am, Saturday 3rd May 2025
What makes St James’s Street so fabulously unique?
Drag icons Alfie Ordinary, Alex Fincher, and Billie Gold have dug deep into the history books and listened to all the juicy gossip, to create a walking tour of the places and spaces that make up the beating heart of queer Brighton & Hove.
Revealing St James Street is a project about bringing the queer history that's steeped into the very bricks of the venues and business back to life through the voices of the community.
This vibrant archival project has collected the stories of residents, venue owners, punters and and performers and weaved them into a brand new walking tour of the area. Grab a map, put your silent disco headphones on, and listen to the voices and stories that bring the queer history of St James Street back into life.
From iconic queer club nights, historical gay venues to downright outrageous stories, stand in a spot, scan a code and take a journey through the history of this community. From Queer Heritage South comes a project about an iconic area and its vibrant queer community to listen to for years to come.
Put on your silent disco headphones, and join a performer for a guided tour culminating in a celebratory all dance and glitz quiz and songs show at one of Brighton's most iconic gay venue, the Queens Arms.
The walks are guided by one of the performers.
All the tours will finish at the Queen's Arms Pub, with a show from drag creatures extraordinaire Alex Fincher, Alfie Ordinary, and Billie Gold!
